The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Fenix.
Gonawyn throws a big counter combination but Fenix scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Fenix throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gonawyn tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fenix manages to circle out of the way.
Fenix swings for the body but Gonawyn moves out of range.
Gonawyn drops down looking for a counter takedown but Fenix sprawls and moves away.
Fenix lands a slapping body shot.
Gonawyn needs to keep his hands up - Fenix had a free shot at his head there.
Fenix missing with a left hand there. Gonawyn was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gonawyn keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Fenix.
Gonawyn tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fenix manages to circle out of the way.
Gonawyn takes one to the chin there.

Fenix lands a jab to the nose.
Fenix lands a right hook to the body.
Fenix throws a leg kick which misses Gonawyn's front leg but catches the back leg as Gonawyn tries to avoid it.
Fenix misses with a hook.
Gonawyn tries to counter by clinching up but Fenix breaks away and moves out of range.
Fenix wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Gonawyn walks into a straight right hand from Fenix.
Marcus Fenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fenix misses with a kick to the body.
Gonawyn drops down looking for a counter takedown but Fenix sprawls and moves away.
Fenix throws a sloppy head kick
and Gonawyn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Gonawyn prevents a body shot from Fenix.
Gonawyn is looking for a takedown.
Fenix struggles to land a body shot inside as Gonawyn controls his hands.
Fenix lands a shot to the body.
Fenix is pushing Gonawyn up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Fenix prevents a takedown attempt there.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Fenix creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gonawyn has hold of one of Fenix's legs. Fenix is fighting the takedown attempt but Gonawyn gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Fenix has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Gonawyn doesn't defend quickly enough and Fenix has managed to lock this one up! Can Gonawyn escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Fenix on a fantastic submission victory.
