Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Optimus Prime (ranked 9770 p4p, 786 weight class) and Mario Eikmeyer (ranked 4991 p4p, 485 weight class). Prime comes to the cage accompanied by Rich Boy - Boy Looka Here . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 36 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Optimus Prime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 41 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Eikmeyer!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eikmeyer throws a series of punches but Prime avoids them all with ease.
Eikmeyer shoots for a double leg takedown but Prime sprawls well. He's pushed Eikmeyer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Prime scores with a hook.
Prime throws a body punch but Eikmeyer moves out of range.
Eikmeyer drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Prime defends it well.
Prime throws a jab when Eikmeyer was well out of range.
Prime thows a left - swing and a miss!

Eikmeyer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Eikmeyer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Eikmeyer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Prime is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Eikmeyer, into his guard.

Eikmeyer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Prime defends well.

Eikmeyer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Prime doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Prime manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Prime is posturing up here but Eikmeyer has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Prime tries to roll out but it's too tight and Prime has to tap! Slick submission there by Eikmeyer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mario Eikmeyer!
In his post fight interview, Mario Eikmeyer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
