PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Badou Baha (ranked 2446 p4p, 326 weight class) and Paynuss Chonus (ranked 5103 p4p, 590 weight class). Chonus is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Reverend Paynus. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Badou Baha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paynuss Chonus!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baha lands with an uppercut that bounces Chonus off the cage and back into range.

It looks like Paynuss Chonus has been cut.
Chonus tries to land a front kick but Baha steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Chonus throws a sloppy head kick and Baha moves out of range easily.
Baha looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Baha throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Chonus counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A jab from Baha finds it's way through Chonus's defenses.
Chonus will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Chonus tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Baha. Chonus does a little dance to reset his feet.
Chonus misses with an attempted mid kick.
Chonus throws a leg kick but Baha checks it.
Chonus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Chonus lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Baha walks into a jab.
Chonus throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Chonus misses with a head kick.
A lazy left from Baha finds it's target.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Baha moves out of range of the body kick from Chonus.
Paynuss Chonus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Baha blocks a head kick by Chonus.

Chonus closes the distance and clinches.
Baha wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chonus has him pressed against the cage.

Baha breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chonus cracks Baha with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Chonus tries to clinch but Baha is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick by Chonus misses
and Baha counters with a nice uppercut.
Chonus looks for the body kick but Baha saw that one coming.
Baha takes one on the button.
Baha tries to bum rush Chonus with a series of wild strikes but Chonus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A slapping leg kick lands for Chonus.
Chonus catches Baha with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Baha closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Baha connects with a good right hand that stumbles Chonus. Chonus circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Baha throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chonus sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Baha misses the jab.
Chonus finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Baha's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Chonus falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Badou Baha!
Badou Baha gave a mention to Perkele! in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
