PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julius Wolf (ranked 3674 p4p, 441 weight class) and Blaine Callaghan (ranked 5507 p4p, 580 weight class). Callaghan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Foggy Dew. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julius Wolf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blaine Callaghan!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wolf looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Callaghan is fending him off so far but Wolf persists. Nope, Callaghan circles away and we're back to standing.

Wolf drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Callaghan is looking to stand up but Wolf isn't so interested in that idea.
Wolf makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Wolf stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Callaghan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Wolf changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Callaghan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Wolf goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Callaghan rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Wolf's guard! Nice work there by Callaghan!

Wolf escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Callaghan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wolf is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Wolf is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Callaghan defends well.
Callaghan wanted to stand there but Wolf had control of the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Callaghan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wolf, up you get!
Wolf shoots in for a takedown but Callaghan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Callaghan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wolf manages to avoid it.

Julius Wolf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Callaghan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wolf has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Callaghan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Blaine Callaghan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

During a confident post fight interview, Blaine Callaghan thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Julius Wolf was interviewed post fight and said 'Gotta give The Viper credit. He came at me with all he had and I was just off my game tonight. I think we need a 3rd Battle to settle this War. Wolf vs Viper III!'.
