PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dan Sergeant (ranked 3855 p4p, 194 weight class) and Gregory Simmons (ranked 22466 p4p, 349 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Sergeant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gregory Simmons!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sergeant tries for a takedown but Simmons sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Simmons decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Sergeant manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Simmons keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Sergeant looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Simmons with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sergeant has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Simmons tries to get to full guard but Sergeant has control of the leg.
