Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronald Washington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Dean Malenko!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington connects with a body shot that sends Malenko's belly button to the back.
Washington looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Malenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Washington tries to counter with a takedown but Malenko is quick to defend against it.
Washington connects with a looping right hand.
Washington digs a good hook to Malenko's body.
Washington connects with a body shot.

Washington closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Malenko quickly recovers to half guard.

Washington is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Malenko should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Washington looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Malenko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Washington has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Washington takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Malenko is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Washington scores with a couple of nice shots.
Washington seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Malenko flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Malenko has hold of Washington's hands but Washington slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Washington looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Malenko is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Washington scores with a couple of nice shots.
