Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rokuya Date (ranked 672 p4p, 86 weight class) and Jordan Tuttle (ranked 2770 p4p, 293 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rokuya Date!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Tuttle!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Date pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A big right from Date misses.
A little jabbing left from Tuttle on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Tuttle slips a straight right by Date.
Tuttle throws a fast counter high kick but Date manages to duck under it in time.
Nice uppercut there from Date.
Date stuns Tuttle with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
The crowd cheers as Date lands an impressive looking overhand right. Tuttle doesn't seem phased though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Date misses the shot to the body.
Tuttle slips a straight right by Date.
Date takes a swing at Tuttle's ribcage but misses.
We've been told by Date's head coaches at Hellfire Antechamber that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Tuttle shoots and misses
and Date counters with a two punch combo.
Date throws a right and a left that Tuttle avoids nicely.
Tuttle looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Date connects with a nice looking jab.
Tuttle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Date.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tuttle! But no joy.
Date misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tuttle.
Tuttle throws out a counter right but Date avoids it with no problem.
Tuttle tries to clinch up but Date circles away and keeps his distance.
Tuttle's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Date connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Tuttle scrambles back to his feet.
Tuttle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Tuttle throws a big counter head kick but Date avoids it with no problem.

Date jabs Tuttle right on the nose. Tuttle blinks but takes it well.
Rokuya Date seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tuttle takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Date misses with a wild body shot.
Tuttle wants to clinch.
Tuttle walks into a straight right hand from Date.

The fighters circling - Date throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Date scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tuttle doesn't seem bothered though.
Date throws out a loose jab but Tuttle uses good head movement to avoid it.
Date misses with a two punch combination.
Tuttle closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Date misses with a body shot.
Date scores with a jab to the body.
Date swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tuttle now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Nice body punch from Date.
A left lands for Date.
A big right from Date misses.
Despite the aggression on Tuttle's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Date connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tuttle momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tuttle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Date counters with a nice body shot.
Tuttle takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Tuttle tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Date cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rokuya Date dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Tuttle takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Tuttle slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Date connects with a body shot that sends Tuttle's belly button to the back.

and Date connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tuttle is looking to clinch.
Date was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Date ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tuttle moves away.
Tuttle throws a big counter head kick but Date avoids it with no problem.

Date lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Tuttle misses with a right hand
and Date counters with a nice uppercut.
Nice sprawl there from Date as Tuttle shoots in.
Tuttle has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Tuttle shoots and misses
and Date connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tuttle tries to clinch but Date moves out of range.
Tuttle takes one to the chin there.

Tuttle closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tuttle lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tuttle decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Date, up you get!

and Date counters with a nice uppercut.
Rokuya Date has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Tuttle.
Date lands with an uppercut that bounces Tuttle off the cage and back into range.
Date slaps away a takedown attempt from Tuttle, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Date is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Tuttle takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

letting Date counter with a right hand.
Tuttle doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Date dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Date lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rokuya Date is winning the standup battle so far.
Date tests Tuttle's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Date lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tuttle at a distance.
Tuttle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Date counters with a stiff right hand.
Date lands the left hand.
Date ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Date fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tuttle manages to avoid it.
A little jabbing left from Tuttle on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Tuttle walks into a stiff left hand from Date.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Date feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tuttles jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Tuttle ducks under a wild hook from Date.
Tuttle looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Date misses with a wild body shot.

Tuttle shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Date napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Tuttle stands up and beckons Date to his feet.
Tuttle takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rokuya Date is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Date throws a body shot but no joy.
Good exchange - Date coming out on top.
No luck for Tuttle with that takedown attempt.

Date lands with a good body shot.
Tuttle misses with a takedown
and Tuttle takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rokuya Date has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Tuttle.
Tuttle ducks right into an uppercut from Date.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Date stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Date wants it to stay on the feet.
Date is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Date thuds a left hand into Tuttle's body.
Tuttle takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Nice body punch from Date.
Rokuya Date is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Tuttle takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Tuttle tries to close the distance and clinch but Date swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tuttle takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Date digs a good body shot into Tuttle's ribs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tuttle takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Date scores with a jab to the head.
Date works the jab nicely.
Date lunges at Tuttle with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tuttle's hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rokuya Date showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Date, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
