PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Parker (ranked 2799 p4p, 333 weight class) and Virgil Keller (ranked 4770 p4p, 500 weight class). Keller has chosen War Music as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alex Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 27 - 0, fighting out of London, Virgil Keller!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keller uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Parker.

Keller closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Parker to the mat! Parker manages to get full guard.
Parker is pulling down on Keller's head. It's preventing any offense from Keller, at least for the moment.
Parker has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Keller has passed into side control.
You can see the frustration on Parker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Parker gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Parker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Parker keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Keller looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Parker controlling the position well.
Parker is trying to get back to full guard.
Keller seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Parker tries to get to full guard but Keller has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Parker won't allow Keller to pass to mount.
Parker wants to improve his position but Keller is controlling well.
Parker keeping control of the position.
Parker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Parker is trying to control but can't.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Keller slips a jab from Parker.
Parker swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Parker with a body punch. A glancing blow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Parker looks to score with a jab to the body but Keller is just out of range.
Parker pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Keller moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Keller avoids a punch combination nicely.
And Keller tries to counter it with a takedown but Parker pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Keller moves in looking to clinch but Parker pushes him off.
Keller fails with the takedown.
Keller slips a straight right by Parker.
Parker scores with a decent looking hook.

It looks like Virgil Keller has been cut.
Keller gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jab, jab by Parker - just one landing.
Keller gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Parker gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Keller is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alex Parker!
A relieved looking Alex Parker thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
