Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rudolf Kleinschmidt (ranked 259 p4p, 38 weight class) and Ronnie Hepple (ranked 261 p4p, 39 weight class). Kleinschmidt comes to the cage accompanied by DMX- It's hot and hell is dark. Ronnie Hepple has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rudolf Kleinschmidt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rudolf Kleinschmidt!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ronnie Hepple!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kleinschmidt moves in looking to clinch but Hepple pushes him off.
Hepple punishes Kleinschmidt's body with a nice straight punch.
Kleinschmidt is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Hepple scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hepple thuds a left hand into Kleinschmidt's body.
Kleinschmidt swings widly with a right hand
and Hepple counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sloppy strikes from Hepple. Those never looked like landing.
Kleinschmidt looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kleinschmidt looks to throw the jab but Hepple is out of range.

Hepple scores with a sloppy right hand. Kleinschmidt should have avoided that one.

Hepple lands a left and a right that send Kleinschmidt crashing to the mat, dazed. Hepple thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Kleinschmidt moves out of range of the strikes.
Oh Kleinschmidt is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

A looping hook to the body misses from Hepple. Kleinschmidt does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kleinschmidt swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Kleinschmidt misses with a straight left.
Kleinschmidt seems to have got his legs back now.
Kleinschmidt's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hepple connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kleinschmidt scrambles back to his feet.
Hepple uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kleinschmidt.
Hepple swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Kleinschmidt looks to land a right hand but Hepple moved out of range.
Kleinschmidt digs a good hook to Hepple's body.
Hepple throws a hook to the side of Kleinschmidt's head but Kleinschmidt sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Hepple gets a clinch.

Kleinschmidt gets control of Hepple's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kleinschmidt will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Kleinschmidt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hepple gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hepple has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kleinschmidt is proving hard to escape from.

Kleinschmidt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hepple defends well.

Hepple decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ronnie Hepple seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hepple scores with a nice strike.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hepple takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Kleinschmidt has managed to clinch.
Hepple is leaning against Kleinschmidt and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Kleinschmidt is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hepple to keep the fight standing.
Hepple lands a hook that snaps the head of Kleinschmidt backwards.
Hepple is working Kleinschmidt over against the cage.
Kleinschmidt is breathing heavily.
Hepple lands a left hand.
Kleinschmidt is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hepple to keep the fight standing.
Hepple works on Kleinschmidt's body with a couple of short punches.
Nice body punch from Hepple - that landed with a thud.

Hepple lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Kleinschmidt tries to pull guard but Hepple won't allow it.

Hepple throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kleinschmidts head.
Hepple is leaning against Kleinschmidt and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Hepple makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hepple lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A left hand lands to the body for Hepple.
Hepple scores with a nice hook to the head.
Hepple throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Hepple is working Kleinschmidt over against the cage.

Hepple's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hepple lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Hepple breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hepple circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Kleinschmidt to the canvas! Kleinschmidt doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Hepple keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ronnie Hepple!
Ronnie Hepple is the new welterweight champion!
Ronnie Hepple decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
