The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malikoic shoots for a takedown but Rumper saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Malikoic stuffs the takedown attempt from Rumper. Rumper gets slowly back to his feet.
Malikoic throws a body punch but Rumper moves out of range.
Rumper shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Malikoic but Malikoic pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rumper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Malikoic sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rumper somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Todd Rumper. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rumper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Malikoic looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rumper is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Malikoic has escaped the position, nice work there.

Malikoic is desperately trying to improve his position but Rumper has a good base and remains in mount.
Rumper scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Malikoic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rumper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rumper tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Rumper lands a big shot there that rocks Malikoic but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Rumper has the hooks in. Malikoic is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Rumper passes his arm under Malikoic's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Malikoic taps!
