The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Borgo clinches up with Mcmahon and pushes him back against the cage.
Mcmahon just leaning against Borgo, taking a breather.
Mcmahon avoiding damage as Borgo throws knees to the body.

Borgo wants the takedown. Mcmahon is fighting it off but Borgo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mcmahon's guard against the cage.
Mcmahon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Borgo wants to control from the top but Mcmahon keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mcmahon is on top in guard.

Borgo pushes Mcmahon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Borgo closes the distance and clinches up with Mcmahon, looking for a takedown. Borgo pushes Mcmahon against the cage but Mcmahon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Mcmahon.
Borgo shoots in for a takedown but Mcmahon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mcmahon takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Mcmahon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Borgo tries to free his leg and advance position but Mcmahon is retaining full guard.
Mcmahon has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Borgo has passed into side control.

Borgo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcmahon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mcmahon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Borgo's guard.

Borgo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mcmahon is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Borgo.

Mcmahon goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Borgo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mcmahon's guard! Nice work there by Borgo!

Borgo wants to get back to striking at distance but Mcmahon won't allow it.

Borgo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Borgo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mcmahon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Borgo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mcmahon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mcmahon doesn't have the hooks in and Borgo manages to turn into his guard.
Mcmahon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Borgo manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hector Mcmahon.
