Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mr Miyagi (ranked 8346 p4p, 716 weight class) and Deckard Vincent (ranked 25628 p4p, 787 weight class). Vincent has chosen Blade Runner End Theme as his entrance music. Deckard Vincent has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mr Miyagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Deckard Vincent!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vincent stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Miyagi.
Miyagi lands a jab-cross combination.
Miyagi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Miyagi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vincent throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vincent staying out of range there.
Vincent throws a counter combo.

Vincent scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Miyagi pushes Vincent off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vincent showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Miyagi.

Vincent throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Miyagi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vincent is in Miyagi's guard.

Vincent engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Miyagi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Vincent slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Miyagi has his foot on Vincent's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vincent works his way back into a safe position though.
Miyagi is breathing heavily.
Vincent looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
It looks like Vincent might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Vincent's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Miyagi takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Miyagi misses with a combination

and Vincent counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vincent sitting in guard here, content to control.
More stalling from Vincent.
Vincent lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Miyagi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Vincent is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Vincent with more of the same as he continues to hold on.

Vincent is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Miyagi is trying to control the position but Vincent postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round but I would say that Mr Miyagi will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Vincent pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Miyagi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Vincent is looking for the big counter here.
A punch lands to the side of Miyagi 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Vincent lands with a nice combination. Miyagi backs away looking to recover.
Vincent shoots in but no luck this time.

Vincent throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Miyagi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vincent is in Miyagi's guard.
Vincent slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Vincent really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miyagi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Vincent avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vincent content to stall in guard here.

Vincent stands up and waves to Miyagi to follow him.
Vincent shoots for a double leg takedown but Miyagi sprawls well. He's pushed Vincent's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Vincent counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Vincent is stalling in the full guard.

Miyagi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Vincent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miyagi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vincent stays in close to Miyagi's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miyagi takes a jab right on the kisser.
Miyagi lands a head kick!
Vincent is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Vincent shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Vincent was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Vincent controls the position from side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vincent prevents Miyagi from escaping the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deckard Vincent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Miyagi throws a head kick that misses.
Vincent throws a body kick that misses.
Miyagi connects with a leg kick. Vincent looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Danga de danga de dang - Vincent scores with a four punch combination!
Vincent tries to close the distance and clinch up but Miyagi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Miyagi half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Vincent lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Miyagi enables Vincent to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Miyagi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Miyagi has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Vincent has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miyagi gets underhooks to prevent Vincent's takedown attempt.

Miyagi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Miyagi stuffs the takedown.
Miyagi appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Vincent darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Vincent gets the takedown into side control.
Vincent just content to control the position.

Vincent working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Miyagi manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Vincent wants to get back to full guard but Miyagi has mounted him!
Miyagi lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vincent somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Vincent fails to land with a series of punches.
Miyagi drops down looking for a counter takedown but Vincent sprawls and moves away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vincent looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Miyagi throws a series of punches but Vincent avoids them all with ease.
Mr Miyagi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vincent tries to bum rush Miyagi with a series of wild strikes but Miyagi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Miyagi appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Miyagi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vincent lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Vincent closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Vincent darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Vincent controlling the action here.

Miyagi actively working from the bottom here.

Vincent is working for a kimura but Miyagi is defending it quite comfortably.
Vincent winds up and cracks Miyagi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Vincent is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Deckard Vincent.
I think Vincent has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Deckard Vincent misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
