Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Pot (ranked 25023 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seland Rasmus (ranked 5912 p4p, 0 weight class). Peter Pot could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Seland Rasmus's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seland Rasmus!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasmus throws a head kick but Pot moves out of range.
Pot shoots in but Rasmus avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rasmus lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Peter Pot has been cut.
Pot leaves Rasmus with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rasmus misses with a takedown
and Pot counters with a head kick. That will keep Rasmus thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Rasmus stuffs the takedown attempt from Pot. Pot gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rasmus rushes Pot and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pot wants to stall.

Pot tries for a takedown. No joy.

Rasmus is trying to work for a kimura but Pot is defending well.

Rasmus is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rasmus missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rasmus in particular looking to stall.
Pot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rasmus is working away from the top position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rasmus looks to land a combination but Pot avoids it well.
Rasmus goes for a double leg but Pot avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pot continues to drive forward.
Pot misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Rasmus counters with a three punch combo that has Pot backing up. Pot nods at Rasmus to acknowledge the strikes.

Rasmus closes the distance and clinches.
Rasmus lands a hook that snaps the head of Pot backwards.
Rasmus is trying to force a seperation but Pot has the dominant position.
Rasmus digs a right hand underneath Pot's ribcage. Pot let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Pot is trying to break the clinch but Rasmus has him pressed against the cage.
Rasmus wants to break the clinch but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pot pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pot wants to slow Rasmus down by chopping away at his legs.
Rasmus misses with a takedown attempt
and Pot counters with a nice body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seland Rasmus dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Peter Pot's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pot shoots for a double leg takedown but Rasmus sprawls well. He's pushed Pot's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rasmus doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Pot leaves Rasmus with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pot changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rasmus tries to avoid it but Pot manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rasmus to the ground. Rasmus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rasmus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pot manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pot looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Pot dives in for a single leg takedown but Rasmus sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Rasmus closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rasmus is trying to push Pot away but Pot has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Pot tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rasmus just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rasmus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pot is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rasmus is defending well.
Rasmus has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pot is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Pot tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Pot lands a nice hook to Rasmus's body. Rasmus takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Pot shoots in looking for a takedown but Rasmus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pot's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Rasmus tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Rasmus clinches up with Pot and pushes him back against the cage.
Rasmus drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A close second round but Seland Rasmus will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Pot tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rasmus swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pot fails with a takedown attempt.
Pot displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rasmus.
Rasmus lands with a nice body punch.

Rasmus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Rasmus is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pot defends it well.

Pot is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rasmus pulls his head out easily.
Pot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rasmus on the ground.

Rasmus is trying to work for a kimura but Pot is defending well.
Rasmus moves nicely into side control.

Rasmus happy to just control the position for now.

Rasmus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rasmus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Pot gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Rasmus tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pot reaches up to try and control the position but Rasmus seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Pot rolls and tries to escape and now Rasmus has his back!
Rasmus lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Rasmus.

Rasmus has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Pot is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Seland Rasmus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rasmus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
