Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jc Cobb (ranked 5825 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Cha (ranked 5818 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jc Cobb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Cha!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cha dives in and scores a takedown into Cobb's guard.
Cha passes Cobb's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Cha wants to control but Cobb is keeping him busy.
Cha not doing much here.
Cobb is staying active underneath Cha, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Cha trying to pass the guard but Cobb defending well.
Cha is looking to take a break and control but Cobb is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cha is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cobb has managed to free his arm - good work.
Cobb is trying to control but can't.

Cobb is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cobb tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Cha is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cobb rushes Cha and presses him up against the cage.

Cobb has picked Cha up - he's going for a ride! Cobb dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cobb in particular looking to stall.
Cobb wants to stand up but Cha has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Cha trying to control here.
Cha wants to control but Cobb passes into side.

Cha looking for a sweep but Cobb has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Cobb tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Cobb can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cha is looking to escape.

Cobb get's back to his feet.

Cobb checks a low kick from Cha.

Cobb closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cha's guard.

Cha wriggles free and stands up.

Cha gets a double leg takedown into Cobb's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cha trying to control the position from guard on top but Cobb is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cobb has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cha throwing strikes from guard but Cobb blocks nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dmitry Cha will probably get the nod.
That's time! Cobb's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Cobb is trying to keep Cha in close.

Cobb working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cha doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cha manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cha avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cobb wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Cobb working a defensive guard but Cha passes into half guard.
Cha seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cobb does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cha working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Cobb's thigh. Cobb counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Cobb looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cha working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Cobb is pulling down on Cha's head. It's preventing any offense from Cha, at least for the moment.

Cha stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Some wild striking there from Cha.
As Cha looks to move away, Cobb throws a big counter combo but Cha just gets out of the way.

Cha has managed to clinch.
Cha is pressed up against the cage. Cobb has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cha down to the mat. Cha avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cobb drives through with a takedown into Cha's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Cobb slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Cha has a closed guard, preventing Cobb from standing up.
Cha is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cobb is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Cha wants to control the position but Cobb says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Cobb looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Cobb seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cha for as long as he can get away with.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cobb is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dmitry Cha showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Cha lands a head kick!


It looks like Jc Cobb has been cut.
Cobb throws a head kick that misses

and Cha counters by clinching up.
Cobb managing to block the knees to the body from Cha.

Cha has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cobb uses from the top position.
Cobb wanted to stand there but Cha had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cha is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cha can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cobb controls the pace.

Cobb wants to stand but Cha has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cha is on top in guard.

Cobb is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Cha must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cha is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Cobb has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Cha is looking to defend but Cobb has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Cha! Cobb pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Cha taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jc Cobb!
