Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Farouk Al Ahwei (ranked 1774 p4p, 193 weight class) and Jesus St Pierre (ranked 3004 p4p, 310 weight class). Al Ahwei comes to the cage accompanied by Whirling Madness. St Pierre has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Al Ahwei got a little sloppy there for a moment and St Pierre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Al Ahwei has managed to get both his arms back between St Pierre's legs - danger averted.
St Pierre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
St Pierre has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Al Ahwei is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for St Pierre.

Jesus St Pierre spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
