Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Wells (ranked 5936 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Chash (ranked 6786 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Trevor Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Chash!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chash swinging wildly here.
Wells feinted with a counter takedown.
Chash goes for a double leg but Wells avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wells continues to drive forward.
As Chash looks to move away, Wells throws a big counter combo but Chash just gets out of the way.
Chash shoots in looking for a takedown. Wells tries to sprawl out of it but Chash keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wells manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Wells tries to keep at a distance but Chash has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wells lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wells not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Wells thows a huge punch but Chash dodges it nicely.
Wells is nestled in close to Chash, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Chash is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wells scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Chash desperately trying to maintain half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chash can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wells seems to be working for a kimura but Chash defends the submission attempt.

Chash pushes Wells off looking to stand but Wells dives back in and keeps control.

Chash has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wells is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wells seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Chash keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Wells has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Chash tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wells sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chash somewhat.

Chash is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Wells jumps into side control!

Wells decides to stand back up. Wells steps back and let's Chash get back to his feet.
Chash shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Wells has had enough of the clinch but Chash keeps him there for the moment.
Chash is pressed up against the cage. Wells has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chash down to the mat. Chash avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Chash tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wells defends well and Chash ends up having to push Wells into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
It looked like Wells was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Chash throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wells's waist but Wells gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chash off to one side.

Chash takes the fight into the clinch.

Chash's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Chash will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
