Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Cha!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davenport throws a low kick but Cha avoids it.

Davenport moves into range and clinches up with Cha.
Cha is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Davenport tries to score a body lock takedown but Cha shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Davenport jumps guard but Cha turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Cha fails to pull guard.

Davenport successfully pulls guard.
Cha trying to control but Davenport is working from the bottom.
Davenport not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Davenport wants to stand and escape but Cha is having none of it.
Davenport tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cha trying to control the position from guard on top but Davenport is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Davenport is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Davenport is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Davenport wants to stand up but Cha has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Davenport looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cha is looking for a sweep. Davenport is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Davenport is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cha has managed to free his arm - good work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Cha wants to get back to full guard.

Cha looks winded!
A head kick misses from Cha.

Cha moves into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cha pulls guard successfully.
Davenport loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Davenport is looking to work some ground and pound but Cha has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cha bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Davenport throws a half hearted mid kick.

Davenport has managed to clinch.
Davenport jumps guard but Cha stands there with Davenport around his waist. Davenport gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cha breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dmitry Cha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cha looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davenport half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Davenport closes the distance and clinches.
Davenport is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cha can do to turn this around?
Cha is breathing heavily.

Davenport thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Cha is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Cha has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Cha's jab looks to have found its range, popping Davenport under the eye.
Cha shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Davenport as he avoids it easily.

Davenport is trying to pull guard but Cha turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Cha is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Davenport is keeping busy.
Davenport's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Cha is looking to take this one to the mat.

Davenport works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Cha pushes Davenport off and gets back to his feet.

Davenport changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fight stays on the outside here - Davenport looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Cha tries for a takedown but Davenport sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

A close second round but Dmitry Cha will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Davenport's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Davenport is trying to trip Cha. He has hold of a leg but Cha is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Davenport persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Cha pushes Davenport off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Cha motions for Davenport to come forward. Cha throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Davenport gets caught flat footed, as Cha shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Horrible takedown attempt by Cha or perhaps it was just good defense by Davenport, which made it look bad.
Cha looks to land a combination but Davenport avoids it well.

Cha keeps the fight on the outside.

Cha tries for a takedown but Davenport manages to get underhooks.
Josue Davenport has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitry Cha.
