Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hard Hands (ranked 6925 p4p, 681 weight class) and Mike Mikson (ranked 6824 p4p, 677 weight class). Mike Mikson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Mikson!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hard Hands manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

My spies in GnP inform me that Mikson has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mikson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hard Hands counters with a stiff right hand.
Mikson feints and as Hard Hands raises his hands in defense, Mikson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hard Hands is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Mikson dives into side control.
Hard Hands is trying to control Mikson's posture but Mikson avoids it.

Mikson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hard Hands keeps working.
Mikson wants to take a breather but Hard Hands manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Mikson.

Hard Hands working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mikson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mikson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mikson wants to pass the guard but Hard Hands is keeping the position.
Mikson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mikson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hard Hands is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hard Hands has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hard Hands looking to sit in guard and control but Mikson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mikson wants to pass the guard but Hard Hands is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Mikson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Mikson counters with a single leg into guard. Hard Hands didn't expect that.

Mikson shoots in looking for a takedown but Hard Hands manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mikson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Hard Hands lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Hard Hands shoots in for a double leg but Mikson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mikson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hard Hands's waist but Hard Hands gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mikson off to one side.
Jack Hard Hands has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Mikson.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Hard Hands will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Mikson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hard Hands is fending him off so far but Mikson persists. Nope, Hard Hands circles away and we're back to standing.

Mikson is looking for the choke from the back position but Hard Hands is controlling his hands well.
