Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kendall Swanson (ranked 6084 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Aliev (ranked 25327 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kendall Swanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Albert Aliev!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aliev misses with a takedown attempt

and Swanson counters by clinching up.

Swanson has picked Aliev up - he's going for a ride! Swanson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Aliev tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Swanson manages to move to mount!
Swanson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Swanson cracks Aliev with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Swanson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Aliev tries to reverse the position but Swanson maintains control.
Swanson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Aliev looks a forlorn figure.

Swanson lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Swanson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Swanson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Swanson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Aliev's shoulder. That is not cool.

Swanson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Aliev for as long as he can get away with.
Swanson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Aliev is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Swanson has taken his back.
