Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Carballo (ranked 23281 p4p, 785 weight class) and Raymond Gazelle (ranked 5737 p4p, 577 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazelle shoots in but Carballo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gazelle shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Carballo defends it nicely.
Gazelle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carballo but Carballo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As Gazelle looks to move away, Carballo throws a big counter combo but Gazelle just gets out of the way.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Carballo.

and Carballo moves into the clinch.

Carballo jumps guard but Gazelle stands there with Carballo around his waist. Carballo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Gustavo Carballo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Carballo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gazelle has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Carballo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gazelle.
