Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesper Parnevik (ranked 1477 p4p, 202 weight class) and Optimus Prime (ranked 1745 p4p, 226 weight class). Parnevik comes to the cage accompanied by Montana of 300 - Here Now. Optimus Prime has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jesper Parnevik's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesper Parnevik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Optimus Prime!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prime shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Parnevik as he avoids it easily.
Parnevik lands a slapping body shot.
Prime chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Parnevik can pounce on him.
Prime lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Parnevik circles away quickly and effectively.
We've been informed that Prime has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Parnevik turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Prime throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Parnevik thows a left - swing and a miss!
Despite the aggression on Prime's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Parnevik lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Prime fails with a takedown attempt.
Parnevik scores with a one two! Prime had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Optimus Prime seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parnevik misses with a wild combination.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Parnevik connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Prime momentarily.
Jesper Parnevik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Parnevik fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Prime has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Prime lands a two punch combo.
Parnevik thuds his shin into the meat of Prime's side.
Danga de danga de dang - Prime scores with a four punch combination!
Parnevik waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Prime.
Good leg kick by Parnevik there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Sloppy strikes from Parnevik. Those never looked like landing.
Prime takes one to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Prime throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Prime throws a nice looking combination but Parnevik bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Prime drives through with a takedown into guard.
Prime throwing strikes but missing.
Prime trying to control but Parnevik is working from the bottom.
Prime being controlled here momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Parnevik tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Prime engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Prime trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Parnevik wants to sweep but no luck.
Prime stays in close to Parnevik's body and controls the position.
Prime throws a big elbow that misses.
Prime stands up over Parnevik, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Prime accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Prime working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Prime lands a couple of elbows.
Prime throwing strikes but missing.
Parnevik wants to sweep but no luck.

Prime trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Prime advances to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Prime thows a huge punch but Parnevik dodges it nicely.
Prime is trying to control. Parnevik wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Prime is just content to waste time from the top position. Parnevik takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Prime looking to sit in guard and control but Parnevik gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


That's four minutes gone in the round.
Prime is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Parnevik seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've been hearing that Parnevik has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Parnevik tries to stand but Prime is controlling from the bottom.

Parnevik stands up from Prime's guard - Parnevik perhaps looking for a knockout.

Prime drops Parnevik with a beautiful combination! Parnevik stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Prime is looking for the KO!


It looks like Jesper Parnevik has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Prime throws a left and a right that both miss
and Parnevik counters with a two punch combo.
Prime shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Prime takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jesper Parnevik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Optimus Prime.
Parnevik staying out of range there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesper Parnevik will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Prime ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Prime shoots and misses
and Parnevik counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Prime looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
A cross from Prime lands.
Good standup being displayed there by Prime as he connects with a hook.


Parnevik is rocked!
Parnevik switches off momentarily and Prime cracks him with a monster right hand! Parnevik topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Prime dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Prime!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Optimus Prime!
