Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Whitaker (ranked 7179 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Marks (ranked 3487 p4p, 0 weight class). Marks has chosen I'm Not a Gentleman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marks dives in and scores a takedown into Whitaker's guard.
Marks wants to get up but he can't break Whitaker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Whitaker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marks is aware though and is defending well.
Marks wants to control from the top but Whitaker keeps moving.
Marks drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marks jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Marks working for a triangle but Whitaker defends it easily.
Marks wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
