Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lowell Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Power!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ben Watson and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dixon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dixon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Power misses with a two punch combination.

Power drives through with a takedown into Dixon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Power stands up and waves to Dixon to follow him.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Power.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Power happy to just control the position for now.
Dixon is pushing Power's head away, looking to escape. Power manages to hold on to the position though.

Power advances to mount.
Power wants to control the pace but Dixon is squirming around nicely.

Dixon wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Power.

Dixon has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Dixon is trying to get back to his feet but Power has full control of the position and if anything, Dixon has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Power is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Dixon is defending well though. Power let's go of the attempt for now.
Dixon wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Power looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Dixon is controlling Power 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

Power is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Dixon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dixon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Power dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Power moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Lowell Dixon has been cut.
Lowell Dixon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dixon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Dixon gets caught flat footed, as Power shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dixon wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Power manages to pass to side control.

Power has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Power is pressing down on Dixon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dixon is holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Power keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Power not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Power is controlling the pace.

Power decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Dixon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Power drives through with a takedown into Dixon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Power tries to free his leg and advance position but Dixon is retaining full guard.
Power controls from within his opponent's guard.
Power stops Dixon from standing up.

Power trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Power prevents Dixon from getting back to his feet.

Dixon manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Power lands a really nice looking cross but Dixon seems unphased.


Dixon is rocked!
Power connects with a nice cross there... Dixon is looking wobbly and Power recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Dixon to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Power jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
