The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man avoids a punch combination nicely.
Man tries to counter with a takedown but Trejerio is quick to defend against it.
Trejerio works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Trejerio swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Man counters with a three punch combo that has Trejerio backing up. Trejerio nods at Man to acknowledge the strikes.
Trejerio fails to land with a series of punches.
Trejerio throws a right and a left that both miss.

Man has closed the distance and engaged Trejerio in a clinch.
Trejerio misses with a hook from the clinch.
Man tries to land knees in the clinch but Trejerio avoids the damage to the body.
A nice right hand lands inside from Man.
Man can't get the takedown.

Man breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Man counters by clinching up.

Man jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Trejerio walks away with a smile on his face. Man gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Trejerio throws a right and a left that both miss.

Trejerio throws a series of punches but Man avoids them all with ease.
Sloppy strikes from Trejerio. Those never looked like landing.
Trejerio stuffs the takedown attempt from Man. Man gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Big Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Man closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Man lands in his opponent's guard.
Trejerio wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Man manages to pass to side control.

Trejerio won't allow Man to pass to mount.

Man takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Man thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Trejerio is looking for a sweep. Man is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Man looking for a submission but Trejerio manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Man chips away with some ground and pound.

Man decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Trejerio, up you get!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Trejerio's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Trejerio duly obliges.

Man gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Man lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Trejerio or not.

Trejerio takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Man looking to score a takedown here. Trejerio is defending well but Man drives through and ends up in Trejerio's guard.

Man's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Trejerio utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Man seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Trejerio for as long as he can get away with.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Big Man will probably get the nod.

and Man holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Trejerio gets through Man's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Man is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Trejerio rolls with it to try and escape but Man cranks on the arm and Trejerio is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
