Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Ponke (ranked 3873 p4p, 409 weight class) and Salim Awal (ranked 5355 p4p, 511 weight class). Ponke's entrance music is "Mr. Highways thinking about the end" by A Day to Remember. A fine choice. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brandon Ponke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Salim Awal!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ponke misses with a low kick.
Ponke misses with the body kick
enabling Awal to counter with a crisp jab.
Ponke falls off balance throwing a combination
and Awal counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Awal rushes Ponke and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Awal throws a head punch that misses.
Awal lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A shot in the inside from Awal.
Awal lands with a left to the head.
Ponke is rocked!
Ponke tries to break free but Awal pushes him back against the cage.
Awal lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ponke backwards.
Oh Ponke is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Awal's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Awal takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ponke seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ponke lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Awal circles away quickly and effectively.
Ponke looks to score with a jab to the body but Awal is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ponke tries to keep at a distance but Awal has taken the fight into the clinch.
Awal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Awal lands a left and a right that send Ponke crashing to the mat, dazed. Awal thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Awal moves into range and clinches up with Ponke.
Ponke has had enough of the clinch but Awal keeps him there for the moment.
Awal working aggressively here.
Awal lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Awal lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
A frustrated look appears on Ponke's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Awal lands a big right hand that drops Ponke! The killer instinct kicks in and Awal finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Awal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Salim Awal!
After the fight, Salim Awal was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Brandon Ponke spoke after the fight, saying 'I will suck your dick if you give me a rematch.'.
