Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Top Heavy (ranked 2570 p4p, 272 weight class) and Fanta Coco (ranked 2353 p4p, 241 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Top Heavy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fanta Coco!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heavy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Coco.
Coco misses with a straight left.
Heavy tries to move into range but Coco moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

It looks like Top Heavy has been cut.
Coco has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Heavy is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Heavy drops his hands momentarily and Coco takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Donk. Coco catches Heavy right on the button with a cross.
Coco throws a head kick that misses.
Heavy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fanta Coco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heavy throws an off balance right hand
enabling Coco to counter with a crisp jab.
Coco stuffs the takedown.

Heavy dives in and scores a takedown into Coco's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Heavy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Coco is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Coco keeping moving, preventing Heavy from controlling successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Heavy drops back looking for a leg! Coco is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Coco manages to kick Heavy off! Heavy jumps back into Coco's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Heavy sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Heavy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Coco.
Coco throws out a loose jab but Heavy uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Coco counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Heavy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Coco looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Top Heavy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Coco is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Heavy closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Coco's guard.
Heavy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coco swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Heavy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Heavy trying to control the position from guard on top but Coco is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Heavy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Heavy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Heavy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Heavy tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Heavy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Coco is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Heavy asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Heavy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fanta Coco dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Top Heavy's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Coco fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Heavy.
Coco has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Coco blocks a jab.
Heavy shoots in for a takedown but Coco shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Heavy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Coco might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Coco moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Fanta Coco seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Coco throws a lazy right hand but Heavy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Coco rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Heavy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coco cracks Heavy with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Heavy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Despite the aggression on Coco's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Coco pushes Heavy away with a front kick.
Heavy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Coco sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Heavy fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Top Heavy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Coco counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Coco lands with a right hand.
Coco scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Top Heavy's cut is getting worse.
Coco throws a shot from downtown. Heavy moves away and avoids it.
Nice jab there from Coco.
A jab lands there for Heavy.
Coco slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Top Heavy's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Coco throws a monster overhand right that drops Heavy! Coco follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
