PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Filipovic (ranked 4462 p4p, 448 weight class) and Keon Fazeli (ranked 3825 p4p, 386 weight class). Filipovic kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Wild Boys - Duran Duran. Fazeli has chosen God's Plan as his entrance music. The key to victory for Mirko Filipovic has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keon Fazeli!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fazeli has his takedown stuffed
and Fazeli takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Fazeli throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fazeli looks to score with a jab to the body but Filipovic is just out of range.
As Fazeli tries to get set, Filipovic tries to push him back and clinch up but Fazeli manages to avoid the attempt.
Fazeli takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Filipovic leaves Fazeli with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Keon Fazeli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fazeli closes the distance and clinches up with Filipovic, looking for a takedown. Fazeli pushes Filipovic against the cage but Filipovic circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mirko Filipovic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keon Fazeli.
Fazeli looks to throw the jab but Filipovic is out of range.
Fazeli darts in looking for a takedown but Filipovic gets double underhooks and turns Fazeli into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Filipovic throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Fazeli stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Filipovic follows into mount!
Fazeli has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Filipovic looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Filipovic is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Fazeli can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fazeli is in a horrible position here. Filipovic smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Fazeli tries to lock up and control but Filipovic gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Filipovic looking to control but Fazeli is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fazeli keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Filipovic lands a big shot to the head and Fazeli winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
