Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Alexandrov (ranked 5245 p4p, 506 weight class) and Cj Morrison (ranked 4023 p4p, 393 weight class). Cj Morrison is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cj Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Morrison looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Alexandrov appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Alexandrov throws a series of punches but Morrison avoids them all with ease.
Alexandrov is looking to land body kicks.
A swing and a miss from Morrison.
Alexandrov misses with a two punch combination.
Morrison throws a hook but Alexandrov blocks it.
Morrison wants to clinch.
Morrison tries to clinch up but Alexandrov circles away and keeps his distance.
Alexandrov dives in and grabs Morrison's left leg, looking for a takedown. Morrison pushes down on Alexandrov's head and hops out.

Alexandrov gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Morrison is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alexandrov tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Morrison lands with a left to the head.
Morrison looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Morrison can't find room to land a body shot as Alexandrov controls the action.
Alexandrov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Morrison walks away with a smile on his face. Alexandrov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Morrison uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alexandrov.
We've been hearing reports that Alexandrov has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Morrison rushes Alexandrov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Morrison lands with a right to the head.
Morrison lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Alexandrov is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Morrison to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Viktor Alexandrov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Alexandrov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Alexandrov thuds his shin into the meat of Morrison's side.

Morrison lands a big uppercut and Alexandrov crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Alexandrov looks OK. Morrison waves Alexandrov back to his feet!

Alexandrov gets tackled into the cage by Morrison. Morrison maintains the clinch.

Alexandrov wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Morrison lands an uppercut.
Oh Alexandrov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Alexandrov is breathing heavily.

Morrison tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Alexandrov avoids it.
Morrison pushes Alexandrov against the cage. Morrison is working some dirty boxing. Morrison pushes off with a quick right hook! Alexandrov goes down! Alexandrov tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Morrison moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

After the fight, Cj Morrison was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
