Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dan Sergeant (ranked 2537 p4p, 119 weight class) and Jimmy Carruthers (ranked 5652 p4p, 244 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sergeant takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Carruthers appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Sergeant looks to land a combination but Carruthers avoids it well.
A punch lands to the side of Sergeant 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Carruthers cracks Sergeant with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Carruthers gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sergeant seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sergeant looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sergeant fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carruthers sprawls well initially but Sergeant persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Carruthers pushes Sergeant off and gets back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No joy there for Carruthers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sergeant goes for a double leg but Carruthers avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Carruthers continues to drive forward.

Sergeant dives in and grabs Carruthers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carruthers pushes down on Sergeant's head and hops out.

Sergeant closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carruthers to the mat! Carruthers manages to get full guard.
