Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marco Dresdner (ranked 4508 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dubravko Barisic (ranked 4507 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marco Dresdner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dubravko Barisic!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dresdner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barisic was covering up waiting for the punch and Dresdner finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Dresdner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Dresdner wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Barisic, who protects the arm well.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barisic tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dresdner wants to control but Barisic is keeping him busy.
Dresdner is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Barisic's shoulder. That is not cool.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barisic is not content to let Dresdner control the position.

Dresdner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dresdner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dresdner really is a fat lump.
Dresdner lands an elbow.
Dresdner advances nicely into full mount.
Barisic is trying to reverse the position but instead Dresdner has taken his back - oops!

Dresdner has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Barisic has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Dresdner has the hooks in. Barisic is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Dresdner really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Barisic.

Barisic is trying to break free.
Dresdner trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Dresdner is persistently looking for the submission but Barisic is defending it well.
Barisic can't escape the position.

Dresdner tightening his grip on Barisic, looking for the choke.
Barisic avoids the strikes from Dresdner.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dresdner gets his hands free as Barisic looks to control.
Barisic tries to roll but Dresdner sticks to his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Dresdner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Dresdner closes the distance and clinches.
Barisic tries a knee to the head but Dresdner blocks it.
Barisic fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Barisic is working for takedown but Dresdner is calmly controlling the position for now.

Dresdner pulls Barisic into guard.

Dresdner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barisic can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dresdner has his foot on Barisic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Barisic works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barisic wants to control from the top but Dresdner keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dresdner is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Barisic postures up.
Dresdner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Barisic in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dresdner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dresdner on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dresdner tries to get out of the position.
Dresdner throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Barisic tries to free his leg and advance position but Dresdner is retaining full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Barisic wants to stand but Dresdner is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Barisic closes the distance and clinches.

Dresdner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Barisic looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dresdner is trying to maintain the position but Barisic is very close to passing his half guard.
Dresdner moves into full guard.

Dresdner pulls Barisic in close to prevent any damage.

Dresdner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dresdner looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Barisic is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dresdner is trying to keep Barisic in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Barisic is posturing up here but Dresdner has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Barisic tries to roll out but it's too tight and Barisic has to tap! Slick submission there by Dresdner!
