Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gandolf Schmidt (ranked 5570 p4p, 183 weight class) and Frank Drillon (ranked 25328 p4p, 278 weight class). Frank Drillon is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gandolf Schmidt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Drillon!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Chris Dean and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt moves into range and connects with a jab.
Schmidt misses with a looping left.
Drillon cracks the inside of Schmidt's front leg.
Drillon cracks a nice hook into Schmidt's ribs.
Drillon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Drillon has eaten all the pies!
Drillon walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Drillon throws a right hand that Schmidt ducks under and follows up with a left that Schmidt also avoids with ease.
Schmidt is looking for a counter combo.
Schmidt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Drillon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Schmidt thows a left - swing and a miss!
Schmidt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Schmidt lands with an uppercut that bounces Drillon off the cage and back into range.
Schmidt is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Drillon swings for the body but Schmidt moves out of range.
Drillon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Schmidt.
Drillon looks to score with a jab to the body but Schmidt is just out of range.
Drillon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Schmidt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Drillon throws a right and a left that Schmidt avoids nicely.
Schmidt tries to bum rush Drillon with a series of wild strikes but Drillon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Schmidt lands a nice hook to Drillon's body. Drillon takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Drillon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Drillon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Schmidt misses with a straight left.

Drillon misses with a takedown attempt - Schmidt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Schmidt is looking for a counter combo.
Schmidt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Schmidt lands the left hand.
Schmidt lands with a big left! Drillon is wobbled badly! Schmidt comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Drillon to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Gandolf Schmidt!
In his post fight interview, Gandolf Schmidt started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
