Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Marston (ranked 2076 p4p, 265 weight class) and Kane McMaster (ranked 4133 p4p, 492 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Marston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 2, fighting out of London, Kane McMaster!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marston lands a slapping body shot.
Marston has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Devil Dogs in the buildup to the fight.
Marston throws a body punch but McMaster moves out of range.
McMaster throws out a counter right but Marston avoids it with no problem.
McMaster lands a nice shot to the body.
McMaster takes one to the chin there.
McMaster tests Marston's chin there with a solid looking shot.
McMaster moves out of range of the strikes.
Marston throws a right hand that misses
and McMaster counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Marston misses with a body shot
and McMaster cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Marston moves forwards but McMaster connects with a nice, crisp jab.
McMaster throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marston stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McMaster just misses with a punch to the body.
McMaster ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marston moves away.
McMaster tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marston was well out of range. Poor timing from McMaster.
McMaster bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McMaster missing with a left hand there. Marston was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

It looks like Kane McMaster has been cut.

A little jabbing left from McMaster on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
McMaster has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
McMaster throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Marston keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McMaster lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Marston instigates a clinch.
Marston lands with a short punch from the clinch.

McMaster's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

McMaster ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

A nice side step and McMaster releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
McMaster fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Marston looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Donk. Marston catches McMaster right on the button with a cross.

John Marston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marston cracks McMaster with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Marston walks into a left hand.
Marston misses with a looping left.
Marston tries to clinch up but McMaster circles away and keeps his distance.
Marston misses with a double jab.
McMaster swings for the body but Marston moves out of range.
Marston throws a lazy uppercut
and McMaster counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Marston thinking.
Marston thows a left - swing and a miss!
Marston misses with an uppercut
and McMaster cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
McMaster bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Marston's head.
McMaster is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Marston had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
McMaster fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
McMaster catches Marston with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McMaster misses with a looping left.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McMaster lands a nice hook to Marston's body. Marston takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
McMaster swings for the body but Marston moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Marston on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kane McMaster will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Marston is rocked!

Oh Marston is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McMaster walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Marston seems to have got his legs back now.
Marston ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McMaster moves away.
McMaster misses the shot to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Marston. McMaster does a little dance to reset his feet.
McMaster misses with a double jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marston swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Marston connects with a body shot that sends McMaster's belly button to the back.
McMaster lands a slapping body shot.

Oooooh!!! McMaster has knocked Marston down with a huge combo! McMaster steps away and waves a wobbly Marston back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

McMaster tries to bum rush Marston with a series of wild strikes but Marston uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Marston doesn't manage to clinch there - McMaster circles away.

McMaster misses with a right hand
and Marston counters with a stiff right hand.
Donk. Marston catches McMaster right on the button with a cross.
McMaster needs to keep his hands up - Marston had a free shot at his head there.
McMaster lands with a shot to the body.
McMaster ducks right into an uppercut from Marston.


That has opened up Kane McMaster's cut even more.
McMaster throws a body punch but Marston moves out of range.
Marston scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marston swings and misses with a shot to the body
and McMaster counters with a straight right hand.
Kane McMaster seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Marston misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting McMaster counter with a right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marston throws a poor cross that misses
and McMaster counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
BOOM! McMaster lands a beautiful left hook that drops Marston. Marston tries to recover but McMaster is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Marston lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kane McMaster!
During a confident post fight interview, Kane McMaster thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
