Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alfonso Reilly (ranked 24147 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustav Rinaldi (ranked 7079 p4p, 691 weight class). Gustav Rinaldi has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Alfonso Reilly's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alfonso Reilly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gustav Rinaldi!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rinaldi feints and as Reilly raises his hands in defense, Rinaldi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Reilly throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rinaldi uses it to pass to side control.
Rinaldi trying to control the action but Reilly is working from the bottom.
Reilly is looking for a sweep.
Rinaldi slows the pace down.
Rinaldi prevents Reilly from escaping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rinaldi working the head with strikes.
Reilly seems a little lost for a moment, as Rinaldi dominates the positioning.

Reilly pushes Rinaldi away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rinaldi gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Rinaldi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Reilly has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rinaldi but great work by Reilly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rinaldi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Reilly is trying to control the action in half guard but Rinaldi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Rinaldi pushes Reilly off looking to stand but Reilly dives back in and keeps control.
Rinaldi tries to get to full guard but Reilly has control of the leg.
Reilly wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rinaldi keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reilly thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rinaldi looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rinaldi tries to roll over but Reilly keeps him under control.
Reilly lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Rinaldi tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Reilly has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Reilly lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Reilly avoids the attempt from Rinaldi to control.
Rinaldi wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Reilly will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Reilly throwing strikes but Rinaldi uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Reilly thows a huge punch but Rinaldi dodges it nicely.
Reilly looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Reilly throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Rinaldi regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Reilly.
Reilly wants to stand but Rinaldi is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rinaldi wants to stand and escape but Reilly is having none of it.
Reilly throws an elbow that misses. Rinaldi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reilly's guard. Nice move by Rinaldi!

Rinaldi looking to sit in guard and control but Reilly gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reilly cracks Rinaldi with a solid left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alfonso Reilly dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Reilly closes the distance and pushes Rinaldi back into the cage.

Rinaldi has picked Reilly up - he's going for a ride! Rinaldi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Reilly trying to hold on to Rinaldi's head to control him but Rinaldi postures up.
Rinaldi prevents Reilly from improving his position.

Rinaldi is working for a kimura here but Reilly manages to reverse the position and he's now in Rinaldi's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reilly postures up in Rinaldi's guard and throws a big left but Rinaldi blocks it.
Rinaldi pulls Reilly in close to his closed guard and prevents Reilly from doing any damage or advancing position.
Reilly wants to stand and escape but instead Rinaldi has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Alfonso Reilly overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rinaldi is working Reilly over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Rinaldi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Reilly wriggles free and stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rinaldi slaps away a takedown attempt from Reilly, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Reilly moves to clinch but Rinaldi breaks away

and Rinaldi counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Reilly!
Rinaldi lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The referee asks Rinaldi politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rinaldi prefers to stall for the moment though.
Reilly can't do much from the bottom here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Reilly is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rinaldi is controlling him well.

Reilly tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rinaldi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Rinaldi advances nicely into full mount.
Rinaldi controlling the position easily from mount.
Reilly is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rinaldi content just to control the position here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rinaldi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Rinaldi prevents Reilly from getting the reversal.
Rinaldi controlling from mount.
Rinaldi wants to control the pace but Reilly is squirming around nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reilly is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rinaldi fails to take his opponent's back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gustav Rinaldi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Reilly wants to clinch.

Rinaldi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reilly sprawls well initially but Rinaldi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rinaldi working over Reilly with some ground and pound. Reilly looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rinaldi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Rinaldi looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Rinaldi looking for a submission but Reilly manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Rinaldi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that Rinaldi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rinaldi stands and throws Reilly's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Rinaldi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Reilly is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rinaldi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reilly is not content to let Rinaldi control the position.

Rinaldi is looking for a kimura but Reilly is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rinaldi to get the leverage.

Reilly tries to kick Rinaldi off but Rinaldi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Reilly tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rinaldi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Reilly moves in looking to clinch but Rinaldi pushes him off.

Rinaldi gets the takedown into side control.

Reilly bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Rinaldi shoots in and gets a takedown into Reilly's guard.
Rinaldi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Reilly is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rinaldi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Gustav Rinaldi.
I think Rinaldi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
