Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Santiago Gracie (ranked 5187 p4p, 539 weight class) and Phil Arcuri (ranked 1551 p4p, 213 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 5 losses; Santiago Gracie! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Phil Arcuri!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.

Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Arcuri swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gracie rushes Arcuri and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Gracie changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Arcuri fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Arcuri wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.

Arcuri not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Arcuri is retaining full guard.

Arcuri had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gracie defends it easily.
Arcuri wants to sweep but no luck.
Gracie is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Arcuri looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gracie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Arcuri is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gracie defends well.

Gracie passes into half guard.
Arcuri wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Arcuri keeps working.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Arcuri moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Arcuri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's five minutes gone in the round.

Arcuri is looking to cinch up a triangle. Gracie throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Arcuri's body to avoid the submission. Arcuri has instead reached around Gracie's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Arcuri arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Phil Arcuri!
Phil Arcuri spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Santiago Gracie spoke after the fight, saying 'You just beat a red belt. That is no easy feat. Congrats buddy. '.
