The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shevchenko closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Howell quickly recovers to half guard.
Howell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shevchenko on the ground.
Shevchenko wants to control but Howell is keeping him busy.
Howell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shevchenko is looking for a kimura here.
Shevchenko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Howell wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
