The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Falco throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nazaryan.
Falco just misses with a punch to the body.
Nazaryan changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Falco misses with a double jab.
Nazaryan walks into a straight right hand from Falco.
Max Falco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nazaryan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Falco after a bit of a struggle.

Falco turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Falco manages to end up in side control.

Falco is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nazaryan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Falco is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nazaryan has escaped the position, nice work there.

Falco has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Falco is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Nazaryan's shoulder. That is not cool.

The referee asks Falco politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Falco prefers to stall for the moment though.

You can see the frustration on Falco's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Falco just trying to survive but Nazaryan is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Falco tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Falco has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Falco wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nazaryan, who protects the arm well.

Falco decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Let's hope that Falco has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Falco is working for a rear naked choke. Nazaryan is not defending it well and Falco has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Nazaryan refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Nazaryan's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
