The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stoner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stoner tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Nova makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Stoner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nova swivels and escapes.
Nova unleashes a big counter combination but Stoner bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Nova swings for the body but Stoner moves out of range.
Nova swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Baxter Nova seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nova fails to land with a series of punches.
Stoner appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Nova lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Nova ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stoner moves away.
Stoner changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Nova misses with a left hand
and Stoner counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Stoner is working for a kimura but Nova is defending it quite comfortably.
Nova really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stoner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nova pushes Stoner off looking to stand but Stoner dives back in and keeps control.
Nova is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Stoner has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Nova is tapping! This fight is all over!
