PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cody Chalke (ranked 2489 p4p, 226 weight class) and Vika Partio (ranked 2196 p4p, 203 weight class). Chalke comes into the arena with Operation Blade blaring out of the sound system. Partio has chosen Boom! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Partio throws a shot from downtown. Chalke moves away and avoids it.
Chalke displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Partio throws out the jab.

That's time! Chalke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Partio throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Chalke's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Partio dives in looking to finish as Chalke flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Partio's strikes! Partio is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Chalke's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Chalke was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
