Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simo Hayha (ranked 1136 p4p, 161 weight class) and Zsiga Venczel (ranked 1081 p4p, 151 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Zsiga Venczel was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Simo Hayha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zsiga Venczel!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayha lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hayha tries to clinch there but Venczel circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hayha looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Zsiga Venczel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Venczel throws a body kick, spinning off balance
letting Hayha counter with a right hand.
Hayha ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Venczel sizes up Hayha with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hayha works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Venczel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hayha has time to react.
Venczel goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Venczel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Venczel showed some decent athleticism there.
Hayha tries to roll over but Venczel keeps him under control.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Venczel working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Hayha is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Venczel works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hayha is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Venczel's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Venczel's back!

Hayha is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hayha gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hayha gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hayha apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Venczel throws the left hand but Hayha avoids the punch easily.
Hayha tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Venczel paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hayha misses with a few strikes there.
Hayha tried to score with a low kick but Venczel checks it.

and Hayha takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Simo Hayha has been cut.
Venczel tries a head kick but it misses.
Venczel pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hayha is out of range and Venczel settles back down.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Venczel - that will leave a mark!
Hayha tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Venczel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Venczel closes the distance and clinches up with Hayha, looking for a takedown. Venczel pushes Hayha against the cage but Hayha circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Venczel scores with a nice head shot.
Venczel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Venczel lands with a kick to the temple. Hayha shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Hayha shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nice straight punches there by Venczel. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Venczel.

Hayha doesn't manage to clinch there - Venczel circles away.

Hayha swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Hayha looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Venczel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hayha takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hayha is looking to clinch but Venczel is avoiding it.
Venczel is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hayha had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Venczel shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Venczel was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hayha takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Venczel tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Venczel is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hayha has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hayha is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zsiga Venczel dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hayha tries to close the distance and clinch but Venczel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Venczel drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hayha pulls his leg out and moves away.

A very excited looking Simo Hayha rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
