Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Slater (ranked 6223 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cam Miller (ranked 6032 p4p, 641 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cam Miller!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Slater's waist but Slater gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miller off to one side.
Slater tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Miller manages to circle out of the way.

Miller drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Slater really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Miller tries to advance to mount but Slater denies him.
A lull in the action here as Miller stalls from top position.
Miller wants to stand but Slater has his arm trapped.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miller tries to move into full mount but can't pass Slater's legs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slater is trying to work for a sweep but Miller has mounted him!
Miller tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Miller looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Slater defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Miller.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee warns Slater that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Miller working for a submission but Slater is keeping him at bay.
Slater is in all sorts of trouble here.

Miller moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Slater has worked his arm free - good work by Slater!
Miller controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miller wants to stand but Slater is controlling his arm.
Slater sneaks back into half guard.
Slater wants to control but Miller is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Miller wants to stand but Slater has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Miller seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Still in half guard, Miller seems content to control.
Miller drops an elbow to the side of Slater's head.
Miller takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.


Slater is rocked!
Miller lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Slater! More strikes land and this one is all over! Miller jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cam Miller!
