Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christoph Le Eskine (ranked 3761 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pyrrhus Nikos (ranked 3582 p4p, 0 weight class). Pyrrhus Nikos has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christoph Le Eskine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pyrrhus Nikos!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Le Eskine as he checks the leg kick.
Nikos looks to score with a jab to the body but Le Eskine is just out of range.
Le Eskine drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nikos sprawls and moves away.
Pyrrhus Nikos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Le Eskine dodges the punch combination from Nikos.
Le Eskine attempts a counter takedown but Nikos avoids it well and moves away.
Nikos moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nikos misses with a jab to the body

and Le Eskine counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Nikos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Le Eskine doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Le Eskine manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nikos has his foot on Le Eskine's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Le Eskine works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Le Eskine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nikos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nikos is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Nikos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Le Eskine defends it easily.

Le Eskine sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nikos's guard.

Le Eskine looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Nikos looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Nikos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nikos is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Le Eskine's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Le Eskine's back!

Nikos is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Le Eskine tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Le Eskine is squirming around, avoiding Nikos's attempts to control the action.

Le Eskine is looking to improve his position but Nikos isn't that keen on the idea.

Nikos tries to control but Le Eskine wriggling away.

Le Eskine is trying to reverse the position but instead Nikos has taken his back - oops!

Nikos has the hooks in. Le Eskine is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Nikos looking to break Le Eskine's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Le Eskine remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Nikos will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Pyrrhus Nikos dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nikos throws a jab when Le Eskine was well out of range.
Le Eskine tries to counter with a takedown but Nikos is quick to defend against it.

Nikos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Le Eskine counters with a shoot takedown. Nikos fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Le Eskine slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nikos throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Le Eskine avoids the body shot from Nikos.
Nikos throws an overhand right that lands on Le Eskine's shoulder, as Le Eskine tries to avoid the shot.
Le Eskine appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Le Eskine closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nikos quickly recovers to half guard.

Nikos won't allow Le Eskine to pass to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christoph Le Eskine dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Nikos gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Le Eskine is posturing up here but Nikos has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Le Eskine tries to roll out but it's too tight and Le Eskine has to tap! Slick submission there by Nikos!
