Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hunt (ranked 510 p4p, 45 weight class) and Maki Pulu (ranked 591 p4p, 51 weight class). Pulu is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Alive. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulu scores with a jab. Hunt acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

It looks like Matt Hunt has been cut.
Hunt scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Maki Pulu has been cut.

Pulu clinches.
Pulu struggles to land a body shot inside as Hunt controls his hands.
A short body shot lands from Hunt as the two fighters clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Hunt.
Pulu swings wildly with an uppercut but Hunt uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hunt pushes Pulu back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Pulu is leaning against Hunt and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Pulu's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Hunt using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Pulu has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Pulu has Hunt pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hunt manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Hunt working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Pulu tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hunt lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

That has opened up Maki Pulu's cut even more.
Hunt swings wildly with an uppercut but Pulu uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hunt misses with a short punch on the inside.
Hunt throws a head punch that misses.
Hunt jerks Pulu's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Pulu drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Hunt goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Hunt because Pulu was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
