Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Grishin (ranked 3137 p4p, 401 weight class) and Herb Krison (ranked 3377 p4p, 423 weight class). Grishin comes to the cage accompanied by Danger. Krison has chosen Rebelution as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Viktor Grishin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Herb Krison!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grishin rushes Krison and presses him up against the cage.
Krison misses with some punches.
Krison tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Krison throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Grishins head.
Krison slows down the pace here.
Grishin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Krison tries to throw a body punch but Grishin avoids it by throwing Krison back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Krison misses with the head strike.
Grishin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Grishin tries to break the clinch but Krison is controlling the position.
Krison digs a right hand underneath Grishin's ribcage. Grishin let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Krison struggles to land a body shot inside as Grishin controls his hands.

We've been informed that Krison has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Krison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grishin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Grishin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Grishin connects with a couple of short punches.
Krison not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grishin wants to control from the top but Krison keeps moving.

Krison leaves Grishin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

A lazy body kick from Krison
and Grishin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Krison misses with an uppercut
and Grishin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Grishin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Grishin tries for a takedown but Krison sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Grishin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Krison throws a jab but it's blocked by Grishin.
Grishin shoots in but no luck this time.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Krison! But no joy.
Krison has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Krison throws the left hand but Grishin avoids the punch easily.
Grishin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Krison let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Krison stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Krison wants it to stay on the feet.
Krison lands a glancing blow to the side of Grishin's head.

Krison pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Krison throws a quick inside leg kick.
Grishin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Krison swivels and escapes.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Grishin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Krison pinned against the cage. Krison gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Krison! But no joy.
Grishin tries to close the distance and clinch but Krison swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Krison keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Krison looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Grishin shoots in looking for a takedown but Krison manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Grishin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
It seemed like Krison was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Herb Krison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A nice side step and Krison releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Krison lands with an uppercut that bounces Grishin off the cage and back into range.
Herb Krison is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Krison measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Grishin! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
