Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jussi Pulmu (ranked 8486 p4p, 686 weight class) and Antonio Silva (ranked 4414 p4p, 480 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulmu misses with a wild combination.
Pulmu wants to clinch
and Silva counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pulmu throws a leg kick which misses Silva's front leg but catches the back leg as Silva tries to avoid it.
Silva's coach down at Boomerang!! PURE ELITE COACHES and Sparring Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Silva's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Pulmu pushes Silva away with a front kick.
Pulmu lands a front kick.
Pulmu swinging wildly here.
Pulmu thumps Silva with a low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pulmu throws a body kick that misses
and Silva counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Silva misses with a straight left.
Pulmu chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Pulmu on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Pulmu throws a body punch but Silva moves out of range.
Silva raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

letting Silva counter with a right hand.
Pulmu connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Pulmu throws a wild body kick that Silva sees coming a mile off.
Silva throws a head kick that misses.
Jussi Pulmu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pulmu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silva.
Silva connects with a nice looking jab.
Silva throws a head kick but Pulmu moves out of range.
Pulmu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pulmu, right into the meat.
Pulmu on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Silva lunges at Pulmu with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pulmu's hand.
Silva lands with a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Crunch! Pulmu slams his shin into Silva's torso.
Silva waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pulmu.
Pulmu was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Silva misses with a looping left.
Pulmu went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva scores with a jab. Pulmu acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Silva throws a good cross that connects.

and Silva counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Oh Pulmu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pulmu turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Silva throws a shot to the body.
Silva throws a head kick that misses.
Pulmu tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Silva counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Silva counters with a nice body kick.
Silva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pulmu.
Pulmu pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Silva let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
A slapping leg kick lands for Pulmu.
A big left from Pulmu misses.
Pulmu misses with an uppercut. Silva saw that one coming.
Silva might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Silva lands a glancing blow to the side of Pulmu's head.
Silva throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Pulmu's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Silva dives in looking to finish as Pulmu flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Silva's strikes! Silva is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Pulmu's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Pulmu was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
