Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andy Wang (ranked 3973 p4p, 431 weight class) and Sigmund Erickson (ranked 3628 p4p, 405 weight class). Andy Wang has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andy Wang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sigmund Erickson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Erickson on the side of the head.
Wang swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wang has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Arvins Bootcamp in the buildup to the fight.

Wang stalks Erickson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Erickson's face. Erickson staggers backwards, shaken.
Erickson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Wang tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Erickson was well out of range. Poor timing from Wang.
Some bone on bone action there as Wang checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Wang was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Wang will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Erickson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wang looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Erickson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Erickson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wang as he jumps to the side.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Wang, as that shot connected.

Erickson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wang tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Erickson is in Wang's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andy Wang.
I think Erickson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Sigmund Erickson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
