Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Royal Vasquez (ranked 25137 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sianga Gathuessi (ranked 3790 p4p, 388 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gathuessi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Vasquez quickly recovers to half guard.
Gathuessi wants to pass to mount but Vasquez is defending the position.
Vasquez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

It looks like Royal Vasquez has been cut.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gathuessi in particular looking to stall.
Vasquez trying to control but Gathuessi postures up.

Vasquez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gathuessi pulls his head out easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gathuessi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vasquez keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gathuessi wants to control from the top but Vasquez keeps moving.

Gathuessi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vasquez is proving hard to escape from.

Gathuessi wants to free his trapped foot but Vasquez is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gathuessi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gathuessi is taking a breather. Vasquez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gathuessi working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Vasquez's thigh. Vasquez counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vasquez keeping moving, preventing Gathuessi from controlling successfully.
Gathuessi is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Gathuessi scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Gathuessi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vasquez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gathuessi, into his guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gathuessi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Vasquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gathuessi is working away from the top position though.

Gathuessi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vasquez tries to roll over but Gathuessi keeps him under control.

Gathuessi is pressing down on Vasquez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vasquez is holding on for now.
Vasquez wants to control but Gathuessi is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gathuessi is controlling the pace.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gathuessi stalling away here and it's allowed Vasquez to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gathuessi being controlled here momentarily.
Vasquez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Vasquez is working hard here to advance position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vasquez closes the distance and clinches up with Gathuessi, looking for a takedown. Vasquez pushes Gathuessi against the cage but Gathuessi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gathuessi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vasquez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Vasquez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gathuessi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Gathuessi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Gathuessi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Gathuessi stands up out of the half guard.

Gathuessi lands a big head kick that sends Vasquez tumbling to the mat! Gathuessi takes a step backwards and waves Vasquez back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Vasquez is rocked!

Gathuessi shoots in for a takedown. SLAM! Brutal! Vasquez is out cold and this one is all over!
