PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sirimongkol Niyotrong (ranked 1847 p4p, 212 weight class) and Gosha Lopez (ranked 3330 p4p, 363 weight class). Lopez has chosen Sho Z-pod duba as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sirimongkol Niyotrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gosha Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niyotrong misses with a low kick.
Lopez lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Niyotrong gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Niyotrong has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Lopez is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Niyotrong creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Lopez blocking some punches.
Niyotrong fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Niyotrong goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Niyotrong tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lopez's elbow.
Niyotrong tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Lopez scores with an uppercut up the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lopez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Niyotrong uses from the top position.
Lopez wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Niyotrong throws a big right hand that misses.

Lopez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Niyotrong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lopez looking for a sweep. Not yet Lopez, not yet.
Lopez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Niyotrong trying to control but Lopez is working from the bottom.

Lopez has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Niyotrong should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Lopez has tightened it up now! Niyotrong should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
