Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lowell Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Singed Lee!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Ben Watson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lee as he avoids it easily.
Dixon throws a lazy body kick
and Lee counters with a one-two to the body.
Lee doesn't manage to clinch there - Dixon circles away.
Dixon moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Dixon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A little jabbing left from Lee on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Lee scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee cracks Dixon with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Lee throws a series of punches but Dixon moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Lee lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Dixon tries for a takedown but Lee circles away easily
and Lee connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lowell Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lee closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Lee gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Dixon tightens his grip and picks Lee up, before dumping him to the ground. Lee manages to land in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lee is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Dixon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Lee scores with a takedown into Dixon's guard.
Dixon keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.

Dixon manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Lee is trying to stall.

Dixon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dixon clinches with his opponent.
Dixon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lee smiles and moves away.
A head kick misses from Lee.
Dixon looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Dixon pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Lee fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dixon to the ground. Lee is now in Dixon's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Singed Lee dominated that round.
That's time! Dixon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Lee gets a double leg takedown into Dixon's guard.

Dixon pushes Lee off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Lee scores with a one two! Dixon had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Lee swings and misses with a hook to the body.
As Lee looks to move away, Dixon throws a big counter combo but Lee just gets out of the way.
Dixon fails with a takedown attempt.
Dixon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lee swivels and escapes.

Dixon has a takedown stuffed.

and Lee counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lee.
Lee gets underhooks to prevent Dixon's takedown attempt.

Lee jumps guard and drags Dixon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Dixon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lee wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Dixon passes Lee's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Dixon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Dixon thows a huge punch but Lee dodges it nicely.
Dixon is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dixon is nestled in close to Lee, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Lee is looking to control Dixon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lee avoid being mounted?
Lee is pressing down on Dixon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Dixon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lee controls Dixon momentarily but Dixon frees himself.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lee clinches up with Dixon and pushes him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dixon struggles to land a body shot inside as Lee controls his hands.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Dixon scores with a hook to the body.

Dixon jumps into guard, dragging Lee to the mat.
Dixon wants to stand up but Lee is controlling him.
Dixon throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dixon has his hands on Lee's head, controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Singed Lee will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Dixon shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Lee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dixon, pushing him back against the cage.
Lee scores with a nice hook to the head.

Dixon slips a jab and a cross from Lee.
It looked like Dixon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Dixon gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Lee counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee looks for the body kick but Dixon saw that one coming.

Dixon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lee to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Dixon is looking to stand up but Lee isn't so interested in that idea.
Lee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Dixon is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Lee dives into side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lee wants to take a breather but Dixon manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Lee.
Lee stops Dixon from standing up.
Dixon trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Dixon is striking but Lee is not phased and passes to half guard.
Dixon is holding on to half guard well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dixon tries to kick Lee off but Lee keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lee tries to pass to full mount but Dixon defends it.
Dixon is staying active underneath Lee, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dixon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lee sprawls well. Lee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dixon gets slowly back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dixon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dixon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dixon somewhat.
Dixon sets himself, and Lee steps forward looking for the clinch! Dixon avoids it this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lowell Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Lee counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lowell Dixon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dixon keeps working.
Lowell Dixon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Singed Lee is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Singed Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
