Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Loren Grant (ranked 25635 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Jones (ranked 24210 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Joseph Jones was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Loren Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joseph Jones!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones moves into range and clinches up with Grant.
Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Grant manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Stalling in the clinch from Jones.
Grant managing to block the knees to the body from Jones.
Grant tries to work over Jones's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Grant jumps guard but Jones stands there with Grant around his waist. Grant gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Grant stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Grant wants it to stay on the feet.
Grant drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jones sprawls and moves away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Grant defends it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Grant is pressed up against the cage. Jones has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Grant down to the mat. Grant avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Grant throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Grant off to one side.

Joseph Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Grant enables Jones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Grant manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Joseph Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Grant using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jones has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Loren Grant.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
