PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chip Chocolate (ranked 1992 p4p, 216 weight class) and Vunny Bin (ranked 3009 p4p, 300 weight class). Chocolate comes into the arena with Cookie Dance blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chip Chocolate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vunny Bin!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chocolate fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A jab from Bin misses.

Bin clinches up with Chocolate and pushes him back against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Chocolate.

Bin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Chocolate fails with a takedown attempt.
Bin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Chocolate looks to throw the jab but Bin is out of range.
Bin just misses with a punch to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Chocolate on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bin throws a body kick that misses

and Chocolate decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bin's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chocolate postures up in Bin's guard and throws a big left but Bin blocks it.

Chocolate with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bin can't keep his opponent in guard - Chocolate advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Chocolate lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Bin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chocolate accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Chocolate working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Chocolate wants to control from the top but Bin keeps moving.
Chocolate in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Chocolate is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Chocolate has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bin has momentary wrist control but Chocolate slips an elbow through the middle.

Bin wants to sweep but no luck.
Chocolate in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Chocolate is looking to work some ground and pound but Bin has wrist control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Chocolate controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Chocolate has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short right from Bin.
Bin throws a punch but it's blocked by Chocolate.
Bin missing with knees to the body.

Chocolate wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chip Chocolate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bin has a couple of punches blocked by Chocolate.
Chocolate cracks Bin with a nice body shot.
Chocolate prevents a body shot from Bin.
Chocolate taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Chocolate managing to block the knees to the body from Bin.
Bin lands a good knee to the midsection. Chocolate won't want to take too many of those.

Bin tries a body shot but Chocolate blocks it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bin as Chocolate tries to tie him up.
Chocolate is looking to control Bin's arms but Bin gets an underhook and turns him. Now Chocolate has his back to the cage.
Chocolate tries to stall but Bin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Bin cracks Chocolate with a nice body shot.
Bin swings wildly with an uppercut but Chocolate uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vunny Bin will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Bin throws an overhand right that lands on Chocolate's shoulder, as Chocolate tries to avoid the shot.
Bin lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Bin scores with a leg kick.
Chocolate tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bin defends well and Chocolate ends up having to push Bin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Bin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chocolate moves away.
Chocolate looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bin is fending him off so far but Chocolate persists. Nope, Bin circles away and we're back to standing.
Bin looks to throw a body kick

and Chocolate counters by clinching up.
Bin lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Bin throws a knee to the head but misses.
Bin tries to throw a body punch but Chocolate avoids it by throwing Bin back against the cage.
Bin lands a shoulder strike.


It looks like Chip Chocolate has been cut.
Chocolate blocks a body shot from Bin.

Bin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chocolate is looking to clinch but Bin is avoiding it.
Chocolate sets himself, and Bin steps forward looking for the clinch! Chocolate avoids it this time.
Bin just misses with a punch to the body.
Chocolate attempts a counter takedown but Bin avoids it well and moves away.
Bin scores with a hook to the body. Chocolate takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Bin closes the distance and pushes Chocolate back into the cage.

Bin misses with a hook to the ribs.
Bin misses with a punch on the inside.
Bin tries a knee to the head but Chocolate blocks it.

Chocolate has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Bin regains guard immediately.
Chocolate throws a strike but Bin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Chocolate is proving hard to escape from.
Chocolate is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Bin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Chocolate has Bin pulled in close to control his posture.
Chocolate wants to hit a switch here but Bin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Chocolate there!
Chocolate can't escape the position.
Bin wants to stand but Chocolate is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Bin controlling the position easily from mount.

Bin prevents Chocolate from getting the reversal.
Chocolate wants to control but Bin is having none of it.
Bin tries to control but Chocolate wriggling away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bin wants to get back to his feet but Chocolate is holding on tight.
Chocolate is in all sorts of trouble here.
Chocolate is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Chocolate is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Blackscar Fitness, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Bin content just to control the position here.
Chocolate tries to lock up and control but Bin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bin prevents Chocolate from getting the reversal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vunny Bin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Chip Chocolate's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Bin keeping moving, preventing Chocolate from controlling successfully.
Chocolate is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Bin is trying to keep Chocolate in close.
Bin looking for a sweep. Not yet Bin, not yet.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Chocolate wants to control from the top but Bin keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Chocolate shoots in looking for a takedown but Bin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chocolate's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bin is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Bin finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Chocolate on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Vunny Bin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bin misses with a body kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chocolate looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bin tries a quick counter leg kick but Chocolate is wise to it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Bin.
Bin tries to clinch there but Chocolate circles away.
Danga de danga de dang - Bin scores with a four punch combination!
Chocolate tries to clinch up but Bin circles away and keeps his distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bin. Chocolate does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bin stuffs the takedown.

Bin moves into range and clinches up with Chocolate.
Vunny Bin seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Chocolate blocking some punches.
Chocolate trying to stall but Bin improves his position.
Chocolate taking a breather.
Bin tries to land knees in the clinch but Chocolate avoids the damage to the body.
Nice body punch from Bin - that landed with a thud.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bin.
Chocolate avoiding damage as Bin throws knees to the body.
Bin tries to throw a body punch but Chocolate avoids it by throwing Bin back against the cage.
Bin misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Chocolate.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bin breaks from the clinch.
Bin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Chocolate throws out a loose jab but Bin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bin tries to counter by closing the distance.
Chocolate shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Bin counters with a head kick that drops Chocolate to the mat! Chocolate scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Bin lands a brutal uppercut that launches Chocolate off his feet! Chocolate tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vunny Bin!
After winning the bout, Vunny Bin thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
The defeated Chip Chocolate had this to say: 'I'm gonna take this loss with a grain of salt, or a grain of sugar, and put it in a cookie, and eat it.'.
